Job Description/Scope of Work: To provide a footprint-level dolomite risk assessment and to determine the nature, distribution of the soil and rock profile underlying the proposed structures.
No. of Test Positions:
- Gravity survey of the entire area,
- 4 rotary-percussion boreholes drilled 6m into the bedrock, and
- 7 shallow test pits excavated by TLB.
- 7 additional rotary-percussion boreholes for a more detailed investigation for the Council for Geoscience.
Soil Tests Performed: Grading and Atterburg Limits, Natural Moisture Content, One-dimensional Consolidometer, CBR.
Goal of Investigation: To perform a dolomite risk assessment and near surface geotechnical investigation in a dolomite region that adheres to the standards of the Council for Geoscience in order for development to take place.
